The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Akdeniz University aims to educate engineers who can successfully contribute to design, production, quality control, application, and research and development activities in industry and research institutions. These engineers should possess scientific and ethical values, have advanced thinking skills, and be capable of individual and teamwork while being environmentally conscious. To gain admission to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Akdeniz University, it is required to have completed secondary education in Turkey or obtained an equivalent education abroad, as well as achieve a sufficient score in the national university entrance exam (YKS) in the numerical field. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering admits students based on the AYT-SAY score type. In the 4-year undergraduate program conducted in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in addition to fundamental science courses taught in the first year, basic engineering courses and practical application courses are also included in the curriculum.
Throughout their education, our students are required to complete a mandatory internship of 50 (25+25) working days in accordance with the "Akdeniz University Engineering Faculty Student Internship Directive" and the Department Internship Guide. Our students have the opportunity to intern in research and development, product development, quality control, and software companies. The teaching and research activities of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering undergraduate program are carried out by 6 professors, 3 associate professors, 1 assistant professor, and 7 research assistants in 3 general and 8 research-oriented laboratories equipped with sufficient infrastructure.
