Erasmus Program
The Erasmus+ Program is a European Union initiative that replaces the Lifelong Learning and Youth Programs implemented between 2007 and 2013. It primarily relies on project activities but also includes individual activities.
The ERASMUS+ Higher Education program is an European Union program aimed at encouraging collaboration between higher education institutions and the business world.
It provides non-refundable financial support for higher education institutions to collaborate on joint projects and implement them, as well as to carry out short-term student and staff exchanges. Additionally, it aims to enhance the higher education system to align with the needs of the business world and increase the employability of university graduates by promoting relationships and collaboration between higher education institutions and work environments.
The program's objective is to improve the quality of higher education in Europe. It strives to promote inter-institutional cooperation between higher education institutions, facilitate the mobility of students and higher education institution staff in Europe, and contribute to the academic recognition and transparency of studies and qualifications obtained in participating countries.
Furthermore, in Europe, where higher quality education is provided, graduates will become more competent individuals who can meet the expectations of the business world. The program also contributes to breaking down prejudices among European peoples through the mobility opportunities it offers in higher education environments.
Mevlana Program
What is the Mevlana Exchange Program?
The Mevlana Exchange Program is a program that enables student and academic staff exchanges between domestic higher education institutions in Turkey and foreign higher education institutions. With the Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated August 23, 2011, and numbered 28034, the way was opened for student and academic staff exchanges between foreign higher education institutions and our institutions in Turkey.
Unlike other exchange programs, the exchange program covers mobility in all higher education institutions worldwide, without any geographical distinction.
Students who wish to participate in the exchange program can benefit from the program for a minimum of one and a maximum of two semesters of education, while academic staff can benefit from the program to teach at overseas higher education institutions for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 3 months. Similarly, students and academic staff from all regions of the world can come to higher education institutions in Turkey.
Who Can Participate in the Mevlana Exchange Program?
Within the scope of the Mevlana Exchange Program, undergraduate, graduate, master's, and doctoral students enrolled in formal education programs in all higher education institutions in Turkey and recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YOK) can participate.
In addition, all academic staff working at domestic and foreign higher education institutions that have signed the Mevlana Exchange Program Protocol can participate in the Mevlana Exchange Program.
The academic activities included in the mobility of academic staff cannot be less than six hours per week. The calculation of the activities performed by the academic staff is based on weekly teaching hours. If the teaching hours do not fill six hours per week, academic activities such as seminars, panels, or conferences are also considered within this scope. Plans for academic staff mobility that do not include teaching activities cannot be evaluated within the Mevlana Exchange Program and cannot be accepted for exchange.
Farabi Program
The Farabi Exchange Program was initiated by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in 2009 and is a domestic exchange mobility program that allows student exchanges among universities that have signed the Farabi Exchange Protocol. Announcements are made each year by YOK, generally in March, and applications are accepted based on students' academic achievements (overall grade point average), providing an opportunity or right for exchange.
The Farabi Exchange Program aims to allow students to continue their education and academic activities at a higher education institution other than their home institution for one or two semesters.
Only for the Fall semester, students participating in the Farabi Exchange Program are eligible for a non-refundable scholarship provided by YÖK.
