The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering assigns graduation project topics to its students, which can be completed in two semesters with a manageable workload. Group projects can be assigned to multiple students, but the group size cannot exceed three. The graduation project topic can be hardware-oriented, focusing on electrical or electronic design, development, product realization, etc. It can also involve the analysis, design, simulation, and implementation of various electrical, electronic, communication, control, etc., topics in a computer environment.
It is mandatory for students in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering to complete a Graduation Project that demonstrates their professional competence before graduation. The Graduation Project consists of two courses: Graduation Project-I and Graduation Project-II, which are scheduled for the 7th and 8th semesters, respectively, according to the curriculum.
The Graduation Project is supervised by a faculty member. Students are expected to create a time schedule, balance their work, and have regular meetings with their graduation project supervisor. The supervisor assists the student in directing all activities until the completion of the graduation project, monitors and evaluates the progress of the work.
Students first enroll in the Graduation Project-I course in the 7th semester and the Graduation Project-II course in the 8th semester. To enroll in the Graduation Project course, students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 1.80 on a 4-point scale. To enroll in the Graduation Project-II course, successful completion of the Graduation Project-I course is required.
Within the scope of the Graduation Project-I course, a topic is determined jointly by the student and the supervisor, which is related to the subjects covered in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The student prepares a Project Proposal Form (PÖF), which includes theoretical information about the chosen topic, literature research, implementation method, materials to be used, and an action plan. The form is submitted to the supervisor before the end of the relevant semester's midterm examination period. The supervisor evaluates the Project Proposal Form and takes into account the student's time planning and usage, work pace, and success in the project preparation stages to determine the grade for the Graduation Project-I course.
The Graduation Project-II course is a continuation of Graduation Project-I. It involves practical calculations, drawings, design and implementation of practical devices, circuits, etc., based on the information provided to the student. It also includes preparing reports for these activities, compiling them into a file, and conducting applied research focusing on laboratory and electrical and electronics engineering topics.
